Get Outdoors!

As the weather gets warmer, it’s time to get outdoors, enjoy the fresh air, and explore new places! The Nine Mile Creek Watershed is full of beautiful recreational areas including hiking and biking trails, beaches, parks, fishing piers, and more. The next time you go out exploring, keep an eye out for some projects the District has completed around the watershed. Some examples of the District’s projects include the raingardens at Lone Lake Park and the shoreline restoration at Bush Lake. Discovery Point is another great place to explore and learn about the purpose of our projects. Although the Discovery Point building is closed until further notice, you are always welcome to explore the woods and trails outside.  For more information on the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District and a detailed trail map of the watershed, visit our website.
