Water Management Plan
The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Management Plan sets the vision, guidelines, and proposed tasks for managing surface water within the boundaries of the NMCWD.
Required by law, the District’s current Plan was adopted in March 2007, with the fifth generation plan due December 31, 2017. BWSR (the Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources) granted the District a plan extension on January 25, 2017. The Plan is prepared in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 103D and 103B.231, and Minnesota Rules 8410.
Next Generation Plan Update: The 60-day public comment period closed on 5/15/17. The District will hold a public hearing to receive comments and consider its Fifth Generation Water Management Plan on July 19th at 6:45 PM at the District’s office at 12800 Gerard Dr, Eden Prairie. The plan sets the vision, guidelines, and proposed tasks for managing surface water within the boundaries of the District. Following the public hearing the District will submit the final Plan to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) for their final (90 day) review and approval. It is the goal of the District Board to formally adopt the BWSR approved Plan at its October or November regular meeting.
Consistent with its statutory and regulatory obligations under Minn. Stat. § 103D.351 and Minnesota Rules § 8410.0150, the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District (NMCWD) Board of Managers prepares an Annual Report of the NMCWD’s financial status, its yearly activities and projects, its permitting and enforcement program, and its goals and objectives for the next year.
