Welcome Carrie!

Carrie Bush joins NMCWD with years of experience in creative leadership and community engagement. She is a passionate storyteller dedicated to amplifying the voices of underrepresented in Minnesota, and communities around the world. This lifelong commitment has guided both her professional journey and academic path. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and American Indian Studies and recently earned a Master of Public Affairs from the Humphrey School at the University of Minnesota. With years of  experience in the film and commercial industries, Carrie has worked internationally as a director, producer, and assistant director on a wide range of narrative and documentary projects. Her leadership and creative vision have shaped inclusive storytelling practices and strengthened industry networks.

In her role as Communications and Public Engagement Manager, she will lead the planning and implementation of the district’s communication efforts. Carrie will also help guide public engagement for the district’s capital improvement projects and programs, strengthening connections between the district and the community.
