New signs at Hopkins’ Valley Park

Signs describing creek restoration work at Valley ParkNine Mile Creek Interpretive Signs

Staff recently installed updated signs at the kiosk in Valley Park in Hopkins. These signs describe the work that the District has done to repair and protect the banks of Nine Mile Creek as it flows through Valley Park. One panel has a map showing the locations of all the restoration techniques used on this portion of the creek. The other two panels describe each of these techniques, and the benefits of streambank restoration.

Sign describes headwaters of 9 Mile Creek

Staff also replaced the worn, unreadable sign marking the headwaters of the north branch of Nine Mile Creek. The headwaters sign is on the Three Rivers Park District Cedar Lake LRT Trail, while you can find the Valley Park signs on the Three Rivers Park District Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail.
