These two nature backpacks are perfect ways to explore nature with your family! Both bags come with supplies and id books to give you ideas on your exploration hike. You can take them around Discovery Point (12800 Gerard Drive, Eden Prairie), or walk around Cardinal Creek Wetland behind our building.

Bird Bag

The bird bag contains binoculars, laminated bird id sheets, and an identiflyer, which plays bird calls.  It also includes a journal and the book Owl Moon by Jane Yolen if you want to have some quiet time.

Bug Bag

The bug bag has bug boxes, magnifying glasses, and digging utensils to help you find bugs under the leaf litter.  It also includes laminated bug and mushroom id sheets to help you name what you find. Write your best bug spot in the journal so other users can see the neat things you saw!

 

The Nature Backpacks are available during business hours Monday through Friday, from 8-4. We will hold a drivers license until you return the kit. Ask the staff member for good places to get started.
