Fall might be Minnesota’s most underrated season for planting native perennials, but there are tons of benefits to planting in fall:
-Cooler temperatures mean less watering and less weed pressure
-Soils are still warm, encouraging root growth before plants go into winter dormancy
-Many native plant nurseries refresh their plant stock for the fall planting season
Get tips for a successful fall planting in this @bluethumbmn blog post:

Maintenance is a key part of any project, whether it's a native garden, or permeable pavers like this project! Thanks to one of our cost-share grantees for sending in this photo of vacuuming out their pavers. This will help keep them draining properly.
