About Low-Salt Design
Bolton & Menk, Inc. launched Low Salt Solutions in 2022 as a commitment to address the growing chloride concerns. The first phase of this commitment was creating Low Salt Design. The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District is piloting this new technique with many of the cities in our watershed. This technique aims to change how spaces are designed to keep winter, meltwater, and blowing snow at the forefront; this can reduce design choices that cause ice to build up in the first place. Reducing ice build up before it starts can also reduce over-salting.
