Snapping turtle hatchlings!

These snapping turtles hatched right at the Discovery Point in one of our rain gardens earlier this fall!

If we counted right, there should be 16 of them.  They had a long way down to the wetland, so we picked them up and release them closer to the wetland for higher survival rates.

If you find turtle hatchlings, don’t directly place them in deep water, release them on shore.
