Notice of Public Hearing Mirror Lake Water Quality Project & Southdale Library Stormwater-Management Support
The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Board of Managers will hold a public hearing pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 103B.251, on June 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., at the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District office, 12800 Gerard Drive, Eden Prairie, to receive comments on a proposed alum treatment of Mirror Lake in Edina and cost-share support for shoreline stabilization around the lake. The board will also take comments on proposed monetary support for beyond-compliance treatment of stormwater runoff as part of Hennepin County’s redevelopment of Southdale Library in Edina. After the hearing, the board will consider ordering the projects. The $435,000 estimated cost of the alum treatment and estimated $250,000 contribution to shoreline stabilizations at Mirror Lake would be funded through a levy on property within the watershed. The $243,888 estimated cost of the Southdale Library cost share would be funded through fee-in-lieu payments that have collected by NMCWD’s regulatory program.
