PRESENTER: Joe Bischoff
Joe Bischoff is a Senior Aquatic Ecologist and Certified Lake Manger with Barr Engineering Co. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joe’s practice focuses on shallow lake management, utilizing a holistic approach to enhance the quality of shallow lakes. While nutrient cycling and sediment chemistry are a central part of Joe’s research, his management experience includes fisheries, aquatic plants and recreation. Joe works with several Lake Associations to help balance recreational uses of shallow lakes with water quality, aquatic plants, and water quality. Joe’s work partnering with his clients resulted in numerous shallow lakes being removed from the impaired waters list. Joe and his client recently won a ‘Lake Management Success’ award from the North American Lake Management Society for their work restoring Bald Eagle Lake near White Bear Lake Minnesota.
