Happy December! Thanks to Nicole Grabow for this winning shot featured in our Photo Calendar. These calendars are published every other year, so next year we will not be putting one out. However, you can use this time to take great pictures and submit them to our photo contest--maybe they'll be featured in the 2025 calendar!

As we move into winter, remember to salt smart! Only use salt after you've cleared the snow, and give the grains space to work. If there's salt on dry pavement, sweep it up. One teaspoon of salt is enough to pollute 5 gallons of water, so only use what you need!

The wind knocked a lot of leaves off the trees overnight. But that means this is a great opportunity to clear them out of the stormdrains! You can help keep lakes and creeks healthier this winter by raking leaves off the drains. #nmcwd #adoptadrain
